Psychodynamic psychotherapy looks to reach beyond the initial symptoms which may have initiated the desire for therapy, to address causes that reside in deeper in the personality. It works through a process of exploration with the therapist and fosters an understanding of mental processes that often operate outside of our conscious awareness. The therapy is particularly effective for the treatment of complex mental health problems that may involve chronic depression, anxiety and emotional trauma. If you would like to have an informal conversation about what therapy involves, I can arrange a free telephone consultation.
